In October 2016, two Service Experts centers will be turning heads with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are each going to paint two of their service vans pink for the fight against breast cancer.
For the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be giving 20% of all sales from their pink vans to their local Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help end breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be contributing 5% of all sales from their pink vans and also donate $10 for every Precision tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.
This is the second time Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted two of their vans pink to raise money for Susan G. Komen. In 2015, Fras-Air donated over $7,000 to Komen North Jersey. General Manager David Schneider and one of his workers both lost their mothers to alternative forms of cancer and were inspired to help other families.
“The National Cancer Institute reported that 107,184 women in New Jersey had breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider stated. “While the number of cases is actually going down each year, that still leaves a large number of families who are struggling with this disease, and that means there’s an urgent need for research and support.”
The General Manager of Service Experts of Raleigh, Chris Overton, seconded Schneider’s sentiments. “According to the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the leading type of cancer in the state – for men and women.”
