The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Headquarters Office in Plano, TX was thrilled to donate 324 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in the Texas city.
“Last year, I had the opportunity to get a group together to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an unbelievable experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are a crucial part of this community.”
Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to honor her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent much of her childhood wondering if and where she would obtain her next meal. In addition to providing meals to families in need, Minnie’s also holds classes to teach families how to incorporate the food they get to cook nutritious, long-lasting meals. They also offer resume assistance along with money-management and job classes to help families get back on their feet.
Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to supply meals for six families for the month.
“All the team members were so ecstatic that we had this food drive for Minnie’s Food Pantry, and they even took time to show us their amazing facility,” Wilson said.
