What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Rolf Griffin Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a couple of the most usual air conditioning problems in Fort Wayne.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system operating but there isn’t cool air being produced, you may need to have your refrigerant levels checked. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Rolf Griffin Service Experts and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not blowing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan isn’t rotating could be that it just burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity could cause more condensation so an additional problem to watch for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is restricted. If you can check these things, you may be able to pinpoint the culprit; if not, give Rolf Griffin Service Experts a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system up and running again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your system cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause huge cooling troubles. Another thing that could cause your lack of cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Rolf Griffin Service Experts will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off constantly, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be back in business. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the desired temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the equipment is having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your problem, whatever air conditioning trouble you run into, Rolf Griffin Service Experts is here for you all day, every day so we can get your home comfortable quickly.
