Rolf Griffin Service Experts in Fort Wayne always writes about how our technicians are NATE-certified, and while it sounds reassuring, what does it really mean?
NATE is the acronym for North American Technician Excellence and, according to their website, is the nation’s largest certification organization for HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and refrigeration technicians. The organization is owned, operated, developed, and supported by the entire HVAC and refrigeration industry but not all technicians in the industry are required to be certified through NATE. The certification is discretionary and technicians can service heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment without being certified by NATE.
It’s important to Rolf Griffin Service Experts that our technicians are NATE-certified to be sure we are sending the most qualified and professional technicians into your home. To make sure experts meet these criteria, the NATE-certification assessments validate real-world working knowledge of HVACR systems for technicians. The exams are knowledge-based exams that assess the technician’s knowledge of these standards.
Since Rolf Griffin Service Experts focuses on the HVAC side of NATE-certification (not refrigeration), there are only certain areas pertinent to our technicians. NATE assessment candidates may obtain installation and/or service certification in one or more of the skill areas listed below:
- Air Conditioning
- Air Distribution
